You gotta love how big the Deco system is. Is there any upgrades to this version we know of?

I don't think it's hooked up yet and when it is I doubt there's anyone into this game enough to be able to tell differences in revisions but who knows.

I am still waiting for a REAL dump of the DECO Cassette roms of "Lock'N Chase" to surface. With the original cassette, it was possible to change the dipswitches for an alternate, and much harder maze. The Taito ROMs and the DECO ROMs are not the same!
And here is a flyer to prove it: http://flyers.arcade-museum.com/?page=flyer&db=videodb&id=3865&image=1

well the flyer doesn't really prove anything, that could be a shot from a prototype as often happens on flyers.
that said, it could just be an undumped Japanese version, the Cassette games did change a fair bit during development.

actually, there's a dump that's been sitting around for about 4 years...
there's definitely something weird going on tho, there are a whole bunch of deco cassette alt versions in a public collection that was forwarded to me, that mamedev have, but were never added to MAME, hopefully this hasn't opened a can or worms with some politics I wasn't aware of, like sets that weren't meant to be public but are for some reason.
also this version is hilarious, the background sound and collection sounds are straight from pacman.

looks like it is the dump from the last time you made a post actually, digging through the forum history the things I've just been sent were announced back then, but nothing happened with them, should be in the next MAME anyway. http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/sho...part=1&vc=1

Don't you hated the wait timer?

Beautiful! I can't wait to play this version again. This was the version that I grew up with, and it's been bugging me for years that it wasn't included in MAME. If this game was dumped for more than 4 years ago, it makes me wonder how many other games were forgotten? Keep up the good work!

Sure! Or at least I used to. Nowadays, you can always speed up the wait timer by maxing out the Auto Frameskip, and return it to normal before starting the game.

It takes significantly longer to even skeletonize something new than it does to dump it (let alone emulating it properly). Plus DU is forced to operate in a constant hurry because you don't know when the next whatever PCB is coming around on eBay. This means there's always going to be a backlog.
