One of my external 3TB drives is fried. It was full, like 99% full. I've lost 2.7 TiB of data. Fortunately and due to how I arrange stuff and backup things, nothing important is gone. Unfortunately I didn't keep track of what I had there so I don't really know what's gone, except in general terms.
More unfortunately, I have zero money to replace the drive, so...

Is the drive recognised in Windows ? Does it get a drive letter ?
Even if you don't get a drive letter, all is not lost.
Recuva (freeware) might help recover files or get you a list of what was on it.
Another tool I used to use is: Media Tools Professional, http://www.atl-datarecovery.com
There are tons of others.

I would have used any of those if I had the opportunity, but as it is, the drive is fried. Tried several stuff before doing this post, you can count on that. Computer doesn't boot up if drive is plugged in. Disc Manager detects it as a 3.86 GiB drive, a bit less than the 2.72 TiB it should show (sarcasm), and as uninitialized.
I'm getting a live CD with anything capable of doing a raw read and getting the first 100 MiB of the disc if possible, I will analyze the dump because honestly the only thing I'd like to recover is the list of files inside two folders, nothing else.
Actually having one third of space less suddenly is not that bad, but I miss it. I don't think I'll be able to afford anything any time soon.
Thanks for the suggestions anyway and thanks to Andrew for the song too.

If you're gonna go the Live CD route, make sure you use the ddrescue command:
https://www.gnu.org/software/ddrescue/manual/ddrescue_manual.html#Direct-disc-access
Very powerful tool.
