How to disable messages on Mame119++ (State loaded, etc)
#365887 - 05/09/17 10:54 PM

Hi guys. I never figured out how to do that but I know it is possible. Lately I trying some things to do that and the most I could was reeplacing all the text for empty characters (but still remains a small box of the message). How I could disable/hide the whole message and his box from "state successfully loaded". Thanks

Brand newly registered user, insisting on using an old version of MAME, trying to strip out portions of the UI... what is your exact use case here? It sounds like you're trying to do something commercially shady with MAME, to be honest.

Hey you looks like a cool dude! ^_^ ...Yeah actually Bill Gates call me yesterday and offered me a ton of money if I can provide him a MAME with no messages... I wanted that for recording purposes, you smart boy.

So sorry, you & your ilk won't be missed...

You "people" coming here & asking how to modify/remove core components from the MAME source code(probably for nefarious reasons) is akin to you calling Microsoft & asking them how to remove that pesky "Activation" thing so it doesn't bother you anymore. That does tend to ruffle dev's feathers anywhere. There are legal reasons some of those things are there in the 1st place.

'Nuff said...

btw, IMO both were justified in their responses & MG was surprisingly nice in his response!

Pessimist: Oh, this can't get any worse!
Optimist: Yes, it can!

Please enjoy your shitty 400-in-1 PCB that you're making. Nobody else will.

What's so great about all this is that it's not even a believable use case, as MAME has supported writing out AVI files for years, without having to screw around with removing informative messages. So either you're a bad liar and are angry that we caught you out, or you're unable to read the documentation and are angry about that.

Okay, well, bye. I'm sure we'll all miss you.
