Vtech Creativision and Mattel Intellivision controls with MAME

Hello,
Just to report that with Vtech Creativision console you can't configure controls via Tab key, it has to be done with ScrlLock to enable partial keyboard emulation, but this machine isn't a home computer, it's a console.
And that Mattel Intellivision has the fire buttons inverted, MAME assigns fire buttons from Player 1 to the second control (but the directions are right assigned) and the fire buttons from Player 2, to the first control, just the directions are right in both cases.

Are you using the very latest binary (0.185) available from MAMEDEV? You don't mention which version you are using.
Vtech Creativision is kind of a computer/console hybrid and the input were set up as if it had a regular keyboard (literally is one that spans over the two controllers) that spans accepts alphanumeric input. So, it is expected to drop to partial mode in order to use UI. Picture attached.
If you are using a recent build, Intellivision controls should be more sane if you select in TAB menu for "Machine Configuration" and make both of them "Digital". Not sure why the Analog setting is causing shared controllers between both sides.

Thanks for your reply, I was using 0.182 after read your post I updated to 0.185, didn't know that option Machine Configuration, thanks for that.
I understand what you mean about the controls in those machines but also you have for example ColecoVision, Interton 4000, Magnavox Odyssey 2, Bandai Super Vision 8000 for example with similar joysticks and you are able to configure controls with the Tab Key, just the Vtech seems to be the exception, maybe the Vtech should be joined to that family.
