How do you get past this ClrMAME screen?
#364779 - 03/31/17 04:38 AM Attachment: what.png 13 KB (0 downloads)

I finally have the space for softlists and no matter what I choose I can't get past this screen. What are the steps.

That should be you mixing MAME roms with softlist folders. I.e. there's a 32x.7z/32x.zip file (MAME ROM) and a 32x folder containing all 32x cartridges. Given romsets could also be uncompressed and into folders, that's considered a duplicate conflict.

I for example have 3 different folders:
MAME\romset
MAME\softlist
MAME\chd

I also drag all xml files from hash folder to ClrMAME and batch scan instead of ClrMAME loading the softlists for me.

Don't use the software list function or w/e it's called with ClrMAME.

Use batch mode and add all the XMLs in one shot instead.

guide here

I have MAME 0.184 Software List ROMs (T7Z-Merged) 32.2 GB posted on a private tracker that's Freeleech, so if you're interested then send me a PM and I can get you in.

Sadly the PD peeps have dropped everything that's T7Z, so it inflates the size on everything by damn near 100%

HBMAME 0.184 ROMs (T7Z-Merged) 4.33 GB
MAME 0.184 ROMs (T7Z-Merged) 39.23 GB
MAME 0.184 Software List ROMs (T7Z-Merged) 32.23 GB

Life is good

Well, to answer your question: For integrated software list support you need distinct unique rompath for each and any software list (Settings->Rompath), they need to be assigned to the single softwarelists within the Systems dialog (can be found in the scanner dialog).

But yes, the other posts are right, too. It might be easier to use single softwarelist files (MAME's hash folder) and use them in batchmode.

I'm trying to figure this all out and put together a new guide.

Edit: nevermind, I think I figured out my questions. The guide should be ready in a few weeks when the download is complete lol.
