They're files for the proto production cart which used eproms instead of flash roms. So it might be labeled as a proto but it's the same game.

Always good to see alternate arcade hardware versions of Berzerk being preserved and also the various arcade speech/language versions of Berzerk added over past few years.
The Neon Nightmare game (from StarPak 4 cart) appears to also have interesting gameplay as well.

Bravo. If an actual cartridge isn't found sometime later which roms can be dumped from, at least the games are preserved in a prototype category (as already mentioned in thread).
Props to the developer/game designer that wants to see their past work being preserved and I can see why because it's too bad that some hardware designs were made in such a way that meant being obsolete within a decade and not repairable unlike some 1970s or 1980s era pcbs that can still be repaired these days....although those pcbs too probably won't be possible to repair in another 20 to 30 years at most imo.

Yeah it's already a matter of having to take chips off other broken boards in many cases. They're doomed.

Heh.
The N. American IHOP restaurant chains used to make decent versions of this back in 1970s and 1980s. The menu has been reduced to where one has to find another good restaurant that can still prepare breakfast dishes. These days the price will be no less than $30.00 for breakfast creppes/crapes/*insert own spelling version*

It's amazing that some of the Sega pcbs that still have the FD 1089 or FD 1094 are still working at this time.
