Doing something wrong with tg16...

I must be doing something wrong.
So feeling a bit on the dont want to dig ye ol turboduo out. But want to play Ys12. I feel like I am doing something silly wrong.
If I launch it this way it works.
mame64.exe tg16 -cart tg16:cdsys:cart -cdrm pcecd:ys12:cdrom
or (the cdsys 3.0 ver)
mame64.exe tg16 -cart tg16:scdsys:cart -cdrm pcecd:ys12:cdrom
However if I do it like this. I just get a black screen.
mame64.exe tg16 -cdrm pcecd:ys12:cdrom
The hash pcecd.xml looks like it should try to load the cdsys 2.1 version automatically?
Feel like I am doing something silly?

I don't know if it has been fixed since, but at some point, there have been a bug in MAME (if i remember well, it was something like the syscard was loaded after the CD, or something like that) having exactly the same behaviour as yours, and the only way to get around it was to press F3 (reset) once you are on the black screen (because now the syscard is correctly inserted and it will work on next launch).

Gave that a shot. It pops the audio a little. But still black screen.

I just tested it and it works like i said
By the way i have an horrible bug when i go in the User Interface of the"Input(General)" section : the table is totally out of the screen !!

Yeah, it's known.. a side effect (along with a bunch of other things) of the GCC 6.1.0 tool update just before release).

Ah shift-f3 works. Didnt know about that one (or maybe I did, my memory is kinda hit or miss sometimes  ) . I usually just use f3.
I would just look up the diff in the GUI but like you saw its kinda messed at the moment.

My build is 64 bits... I hope the fix is not too 32 bits specific :-D

grrr now the last one dumps me on the pick a cart screen. The other 2 work though.
