DU: The Gunstar Heroes' Battle of Rapid River

ShouTime got Rapid River (Japan). colour_thief got Gunstar Heroes (Mega Play). He says it has "some notable changes. They added lives (whereas the console version is strictly 1 life) which are set by dipswitches. The default is 1 life though, which is confusing because the HUD will have a big mysterious 0 (as in 0 extra lives) showing all the time, and with no 1ups in-game it's impossible to figure out what it means without messing with the dipswitches. Game balance (including health drops and all difficulty settings and the 100 minute Timeron boss fight Easter egg) match the console version, except for one thing: Your vitality (aka health) always starts every level at 70. In the console version your vitality increases after each level so you can save your hardest level for last to make it a bit easier."

"DU: The Gunstar Heroes' Battle of Rapid River" - this bit did okay this time around. ;-)
>ShouTime got Rapid River (Japan).
Good to see alternate regions being found.
>colour_thief got Gunstar Heroes (Mega Play).
Congrats with this long time elusive game finally being found. The various hardware part numbers for the game will be ideal if they can be added to the source file. At least this appears to wrap up of finding all the games for this particular hardware. I hope same success will be possible with the remaining megatech hardware cartridge games yet to be found.

There will likely be people who will still think a version of Streets Of Rage 1 is also on this hardware although the numbers for the release carts kinda rule that out.

Great news!
By the way, I'm looking for this Mega Play cart for a while. If someone has one for sale...

Pancho's!!!! It's the place to be.
Pancho's Mexican Restaurant
One of the owners iirc.
The hot salsa....not their mild salsa, but the hot salsa is the best imo. The long closed Casa Castillo hot salsa was the all time best imo, but many of the family owned Castillo restaurants no longer exist.
