Aburner and clones error with hiscore

Is anyone getting an error with the new hiscore support turned on for aburner and clones? When I have it turned off the game runs fine. When I have it active I get (hiscore.dat parse error). All the other games I tried work except this one. I have deleted all of the cfg, hiscore etc in the folders for this game but I still get an error.
Using MAME.174 win64

Is there actually an option to turn high score save on? I thought you just have to have the hiscore.dat file in your MAME folder in order to have supported high scores saved... I didn't find this option in QMC2 too.

Code:
-pluginspath path to plugin files
-plugins enable LUA plugin support
-plugin list of plugins to enable
-noplugin list of plugins to disable
So make sure "-plugins 1" and "-plugin hiscore" in the mame.ini or use command line
