[88games] isn't loading. I deleted it's NVRAM and disabled cheats and it still doesn't load. Can anyone confirm?
MAME 0.172 Win XP 32-bit.

Nope. I cannot reproduce. Windows 7.. tried 0.172 both 32 and 64 bit binaries from mamedev.org as well as current GIT pull from today, 64-bit. Working fine.

Do the clones work?

Check for .ini/.cfg files or even .hi files that might be corrupt and try agian.

Both clones work fine. So I don't know why 88games is not working. This is so weird. I deleted it's NVRAM. It had no Cfg or Hi file. I disabled cheats. So what the heck could it be?

Yes, that was the reason. It works now. But can I ask you something? How come the Service Mode was set to ON? I never switched it to ON. And I even deleted it's NVRAM file.

Judging from the replies above, you had Service Mode selected on somehow. You don't need to move it via dip menu to active in many cases .. only hit F2 to toggle it. You apparently did it by mistake, and it wrote a 88games.cfg file somewhere with the changed input result.
Mistakes happen - no biggie.

DIP switch settings are stored in .cfg, and not in NVRAM. you accidentally pressed F2, and it was turned on and written to 88games.cfg file.
simple as that.
