If money was no issue, what more would MAME be able to accomplish...

If money was no issue, let's say a dev hit the mega millions lottery and had 500 million dollars to toy around with, what more would MAME be able to accomplish besides buying and dumping more expensive rare PCB games? Are there any expensive tools and gizmos that if devs possessed they'd be able to make MAME more accurate, or include more features, etc.?

The biggest difference for a dev who just codes would be they would have more free time to code. Money isn't necessarily going to turn a coder into a hardware guy. I don't imagine it would change their hobby interests, but maybe I'm wrong. Some devs are hardware guys too but most just code as far as I know.

With unlimited funds MAME would eventually come to emulate the internet. Then in the future, after becoming sentient: people.

Finding ways to get data out of devices (be they ROMs, microcontrollers, MCUs, programmable logic or anything else) where the data is needed for MAME or preservation purposes but where its currently unobtainable would be on my list. Whether that means decapping the chip and reading the contents visually from die photographs, decapping the chip, disabling the security and reading the rom by talking to the chip digitally, finding a flaw in the chip that lets you read the contents out, figuring out how to talk to and read data from unknown ROM chips or whatever other means are necessary.

And by "MAME" I mean the MESS side as well (so things like the Sega Saturn CD drive controller MCU or the code inside as-yet-undumped CIC and PIF chips on the Nintendo 64 would be covered as well)

The Cosmos emulates people. Is it sentient?
