New location of command.dat

Hi everyone. I didn't know where else to put this, so I thought it would be best to drop this here:
As pretty much everyone in the US knows, Comcast sucks, and they unceremoniously dumped everyone's personal web pages. The old home of the command.dat was one of the casualties. I just discovered this today, and in an effort to slap something together, I created a Google site to warehouse the old content. You can find the links to the command.dat now at:
https://sites.google.com/site/procyonsjj/home/command-dat
It's rough and a crappy copy/paste of the old content with no new updates, but anyone who was pointing to the old home.comcast.net address should update and point to this now.
To be honest, I don't know how many people care about the command.dat anymore. I still love the idea of it, but because disillusioned with the execution. To me, it's easier to have a move list on a tablet on the coffee table in front of me while I play on the TV. I dunno... I welcome any feedback. Thanks.

Now with MEWUI integrated also official MAME supports command.dat if you put into \dats\ folder....

I am very fine with command.dat . there are many frontends outthere that support it and there are plugins, that use command.dat to do exactly that: displaying the moves on a second screen. Would be really cool, if we could see that finished and up to date.

How to show it on screen? Do I need to setup any particular key to show it?
Got it, that show in a new TAB. A shame isnt like MAMEPLUS on screen way but is a good one

I agree. Comcast sucks. Their Internet service stinks. That's why we need Google Fiber to the rescue.

I made some changes to be more visible with this new version of M.A.M.E. But still have a lot of things to do.

I see this file, but the only update done by cnterr is change the name from some games (beastrzb -> beastrzrb) The move list are the same of 2009. About the name change, a lot of games change the name between 2009 -> 2016 and i need to change this e add clones one by one, or tha command list don't show in clones.

Corrected all game names to match with M.A.M.E., clones corrected too.
If Procyon want, he can put it on he's webpage for easy access to everyone.

Hi Fabricio. A couple of questions since I'm currently unable to download it and check:
a) Does your version of the dat contain only fighting games? Or non-fighting game (like Pac-Man, etc.) as well? b1) Is your version long-hand only? Or is there a short-hand version as well? b2) Does the MEWUI interface support the short-hand versions with the shorthand glyphs that we created for MAMEPlus?
To the community: What's your preference on these issues? I look at what they do with the Japanese command.dat (that's actually incredible...) They do long-hand only, with even more non-fighting games than the English one supports.

Hi Procyon
a) My list have only fighting games. Games like pack-man and other non-fighting have only a list of buttons and score, and this info can be seen in the History.dat. And with MEWUI, we can seen all the History.dat in game, so, it's the same information twice.
b1) Longhand and shorthand, they are two files in the archive.
b2) MEWUI supports shorthand version and all glyphs of MAMEPlus
I think that it's not necessary to add non-fighting games cause they doesn't have nothing to learn like Street Fighter games that have a lot of commands. And the most part of the info about non-fighting games can be seen on the History.dat.
But, this is only my opinion.

If I were you I'd merge as much as I could (all past unofficial command.dat releases), add as many games as prudent, and translate as much as possible over from Japanese command.dat in both long-hand and short-hand, but hey, that's just me.

I don't know what you've planned, but I'm hoping you and Procyon work on syncing up with the Japanese command.dat, even if a different language and format!

I see the japanese command list, and a lot of the games included are non-fighting games, and this games have only a button map or hints about points. And some of this info is not necessary or can be seen on History.dat, so i think is not necessary to translate a info like this. Another thing i seen in japanese command list is the some moves had not been tested or doesn't exist and some games with not working status. I think is better a clean list with tested moves than a list with a lot invalid or not tested information. But my list is NOT OFFICIAL, so all can continuing use the procyon list or translate the japanese list.
See below the translation of 1941:
# 1941 (C) 1990 CAPCOM $ Info = 1941 $ Cmd [The basic method of operation] ───────────────── ·lever The movement of the character
·button _a: shot (reservoir can shoot) _b: Bomb (Life decrease)
Also it hits the wall damage is not received, In addition to attacking the surrounding area to rotate. $ End $ Cmd [For its own equipment] ───────────────── P1 side P-38 Lightning P2 side DH Mosquito B Mk.Ⅳ
Shot items (with time limit)
[M.GUN] I shot a little of power
[S.SHELL] Through laser of high power
[MISSILE] It fired a missile that crawl the wall
- Aircraft auxiliary items
[SIDE FIGHTER] Give the option to the left and right of its own equipment. Disappear and continue Cry enemy bullets.
[AFTER IMAGE] To alter ego of its own equipment. Alter ego also it is possible to fire a bullet. $ End

Alright - I just in general don't like forking and fracturing and would rather all you guys find a common goal and work together. But it's just a suggestion.
