the ROM containing sound CPU code, including all the music sequences is *inside* the CPU, as we currently have no way of dumping it.

there was a big thread about this just a few days ago.

things are being looked into, but it's a VERY expensive process with no guarantee of success.

different games will have different reasons tho, that just explains the Toaplan ones, others like te dgPix ones, we have no documentation at all for the sound cpu.

The sounds isn't easy to get for a number of reasons. No documents. Can't dump those without the right tools. So on. I agreed on what Haze said on his post.

Out of curiosity, what would these be, then?

http://pdf1.alldatasheet.net/datasheet-pdf/view/100941/HITACHI/HD647180.html

HD647180 is apparently a chip from Vimana that wasn't decapped, if anyone's wondering...

Datasheets are fine and good, but that doesn't help figure out how to obtain the data contained from within this protected chip. Such work requires high end equipment, technology and specialized understanding which doesn't come on the cheap.

I never said it helped by itself. I was merely asking a question.

And you were merely given an answer.
