no progress is being made on that driver, if you'd like to work on it, or have something to submit then go ahead.

if you do want to work on it, and haven't started yet, the first thing that probably needs looking at is adding all the peripherals to the 68340 (which is used as the extra CPU driving the video part)

Thanks Haze, will perform first analysis and see how far I get with it.

Cheers!

Hi,

Didn't get much further personally.
Does anyone know if there is any progress?

Thanks

Short answer: No, sorry.

Long answer: As with anything, if there aren't any commits related to that game, or system, found in the commit log to the MAME project here - https://github.com/mamedev/mame/commits/master - then there hasn't been any progress.

Refinements to the 68k based SoCs stand to be of benefit when somebody does get back to looking at it.

Rather frustratingly the one person that did seem to be making good progress with improvements to the base system emulation vanished before submitting anything (I was told he was 'persuaded' by people in the scene to not contribute to MAME, it can be a rather toxic scene outside of MAME)

I do feel I let people down myself a bit with these things, but after a while I did realise that most of the work didn't really suit my skillset (including things like implementing peripherals to spec rather than reverse engineering) Likewise, for the base systems I realised a lot of the progress I do make is based on visual clues from trying things out, which you don't really get with non-video; it's much more difficult to know if something is running, or where it fails)
