A sinister update

mrsinister sent me a dump of an upgrade kit for California Speed that updates the game from 1.0 to 2.1a. I'm not sure if it will be too useful or not, but it could be hooked up so that the update could run in mame, and also there is a chance it could make a cleaner version of 2.1a than we have. He also bought a few boxes of rom chips from an old arcade op to sort through. It could have undumped game revisions.

For a guy named "mrsinister," that's a very un-sinister gesture.

I added them to one of the sets the other day so you can perform a manual upgrade if you so wish.
interestingly it's got a newer boot rom (1.4) for the updater, which seems to be a perfectly valid newer boot rom, however at the end of the process the updater tells you to put the original rom back.
unless you get factory untouched i'm not sure there is cleaner / dirtier with these things anyway, they've all had data written to them at some point, and even if you clear it then it often just blanks pointers to it, not the actual data (just like deleting a file on a PC)
still nice to see the updater preserved.
would be even nicer if we could find an older revision 'hyperdrive' HDD, we have a 1.4 updater, but the drive we have is already updated.
