Ripping them has become a lot easier and faster since last I did it, in the '90s. Still managed to lose two tracks somehow in the process, but now I find I can't finish changing from low quality .mp3 meant to fit on my ancient player to lossless. That is, if the remaining tracks are still on this USB HDD I have here.

Looks like you noticed I'm not particularly enjoying my black-on-black blue-light keyboard.

I would've never thought you were one to 'hunt & peck'... (edit: I'm sure you don't) new [Re: TriggerFin]

Had to post this for the lulz, even though it's unnecessary. I originally thought of posting as the subject line....

I never took you as a hunt'n pecker.

Which sounds so wrong.

Anyway, don't know what to say about your missing files.

I do most of my typing one-handed these days. new [Re: Tomu Breidah]

The other hand is on the mouse, you filthy filth-brained filther. Typing was part of my actual job back in the l80s.

The keyboard light is too dim, and blue is hard to focus on. The keyboardiness of the keyboard is pretty good though.

See, here I'm not sure which you refer to. I'm missing physical CDs, and I possibly have the old mp3s. There are the two tracks that didn't rip initially. Those might be due to the condition of the discs, though they worked on retrying them, or I might have inadvertently clicked somewhere that the app interpreted as the checkbox for the first song, or CPU load could still be a factor twenty years on.
I was autoripping discs while either watching videos or playing a game on my phone.

I need to just grab the cables and hook this drive up. Yeah.

Stuff that goes on a forum I long ago lost the access codes for.

EDIT: Turns out the 2TB external USB HDD is broken into a pair of 931GB drives which appear to be empty, named elements and element2. Maybe the old mp3s are on the 1TB external IEEE1394 HDD. I don't have that option on this thing, since USB surpassed it. Maybe there's a converter, but I don't know that the contents of the drive are valuable enough to warrant a purchase, and I know the capacity isn't needed at present.

The black box sitting on top of my black box next to my black keyboard makes me wish again I hadn't purchased a white monitor (now mounted on a black swing-arm).
