Of course. I've only gone to the home page of the site when I don't have my bookmarks, or when someone brings it up. The only thing there is news that's likely come though the forums anyway, and the links to other places to be bookmarked if of interest.
Going there otherwise is about as useful as going to YouTube's home page when I want to see the latest from someone I'm subscribed to.
