Move HLSL folder possible?

I've tried moving my hlsl folder from the mame folder to a mamefiles folder, where I have all the files (inis, artwork, sanps, etc.). However, although I've configured mame.ini, I cannot make it work then when I enable hlsl (it works when the hlsl folder is left in the mame folder). Any idea?

hlslpath hlsl

to

hlslpath mamefiles\hlsl

hlslpath C:\MAME\mamefiles\hlsl
