Edit from Smitdogg: Only use the Mega download link
Supermodel 0.3 WIP SVN revision 272
A more comprehensive Changelog:
Changes are (I'd call this revisión Vs2 COMPLETE hehe). -Every Vs299 versions now work and are fully playable: *Vs299, Vs299a, Vs299b and Vs2v991 no longer stuck when the first match is about to begin, so now they are fully playable. (Applied same security as Vs298). -Vs29815 now boots and works (no longer black screen though some flickering). (Applied same patch as Vs215). -Added Vs215o (Virtua Striker 2 Step 1.5 older), an earliest set already in MAME, maybe the original (first) version.
Enjoy!

Mega is the best free file host I've found. There's no point in using those others.

This is something that has long been a concern of mine. Are these unofficial builds laced with malware and viruses? If so, then I may need to start hosting the latest SVN binary myself (not that I plan on resuming work anytime soon).

I haven't grabbed them but usually it's the sketchy free hosting sites that basically add them in. Mega doesn't.

Who is building them if not the maintainers of sites like EmuCR? The last binary I ever released publicly was 0.2a. I've never released a build since then -- all of the ones floating around have been built by someone else, and I'm never quite sure who.
Users should proceed with caution. Later this summer, I will post an official build on my web site of the latest SVN snapshot (I need to update documentation, the site itself, and maybe integrate a few small fixes that have been on my to-do list forever).
The more I think about this, the worse I feel for letting this situation persist as long as it has.

I don't know who is building them but I grabbed the one from Mega and scanned it and there is no virus so it definitely seems like a case of the other free hosting sites adding them in. That sort of thing happens all the time and has been happening for years. Like I was saying there is absolutely no point in using anything but Mega (unless they have added restrictions since the last time I checked). I edited in a warning in the top post.

I also like Mega although in some cases people who dont know much about (and who aren't geeks) might go "I am not clicking on that strange looking link" (when that happens I usually chunk the file on my Google Drive space since its usually something I am giving to a limited audience anyway)

El Semi didn't leave the Model 2 emulator 1/4 done, he finished it after all the rom's were dumped.
You want people to think it is a crappy bug filled emulator then leave it as is, it is a slap in the face to those people in Japan who are sending all the PCB's.
Is it such a big task!, 20 games or whatever to emulate, what about MAME, 11000 games.
You started off well got a few games running then never touched it again since 2011.
You clearly lost your desire for the emulator, don't be motivated by desire, your desire will return when it is as polished as the Model 2 emulator.

What, you think Bart is obligated to work on something, for free, in what little spare time he has? How about you go fuck yourself, you ignorant cunt?

Bullshit. The majority of Model 3 dumps came through MAME's dumpers, not "people in Japan". I personally spent US$1300 to buy and dump Star Wars Trilogy, and I don't feel that Bart owes me anything.

Yes, it is.

well, Supermodel source code is available. My advice to you is: download it and fix the bugs yourself. You are more than welcome to help improve this great emulator.

Hmmm, first post from this person shows them to be an ungrateful twat. Vaguely ethnic sounding name ending with a multidigit number. Could this be a returning troll?

Oh oh, trying to guilt someone into working on the emulator features you want and expecting to achieve something. Like we haven't seen that before.
> Is it such a big task!, 20 games or whatever to emulate, what about MAME, 11000 > games.
Exclamation mark used in place of question mark - we have a match! Fuck off Bart Simo, no-one wants to read your drivel. No matter how many times you sign up, you won't be accepted unless you actually change.

Yeah, isn't it obvious how many many people and years it's taken for MAME to become what it is?

My initial reaction was to blast him with the bitterness too, but...
Consider the "objective" of his previous posts - he was never into Model 3 emulation that I can recall. I'm guessing he doesn't want better Model 3 emulation any more than we all want him to stick around here. I also have to wonder about WHEN he posted this - if he knew so much about emulation in general as to name-drop ElSemi he would have reacted to this thread on day one rather than coming out of the blue so long afterward.
My take is that he in fact got exactly what he wanted - he starts a fire with provocative statements to a random thread and then sits back, locks his hands behind his head and smiles while all the "fun" rolls in. Fun to his twisted mind anyway, but whatever, that's his problem.
Don't feed the troll and he'll starve.

Little do you know that I have a secret build that runs all the games flawlessly and with network emulation. RB, ElSemi, Ville, and I have been enjoying lag-free arcade-perfect Daytona USA 2 battles with each other for a year now. Thanks for all the free r0mz suckers!

Sven465, it is clearly obvious you have no idea what you are talking about. If he really did not care about the model 3 emu project he would have never started it the first place. He has a busy life to deal with. So take your stupidity somewhere else.
