Cliff Hanger and US vs Them black screen?

Hi
I am running MAME UI 64 0.158 and recently downloaded the HUGE CHD files for Us vs Them and Clif Hanger.The games now run without saying that CHD files are missing but the screen is blank - Get sound but No Laserdisc rendering.Has anyone got any ideas?Mach 3 and Firefox work good tho

Latest non-UI version on github works, so I don't know what it could be. Maybe some ini problems on your end ?

I tried 0.158 command-line from MAMEDEV.org with all video modes and it worked for all of them correctly, as does 0.160 and the current GIT sources. You have something misconfigured likely since you are using UI. Manually delete your game/driver specific .ini/.cfg files and try again. If that doesn't work, download the MAMEDEV.org versions and try in a separate folder after setting rompaths for your roms/chds.

I deleted the config file for this as Tafoid suggested but dont understand INI too much to see where the problem is.Would posting it help?
Apologies - for some reason MACH 3 and Firefox have stopped working too but I havent changed any settings

Its occured to me that MAYBE I have incorrectly delt with the CHD files.I have been pasting them into the whole rom folder.Should I be putting them into the specific game zip file instead?Still doesnt explain why they worked then didnt unless exiting MAME caused something to change if the CHD file is in the wrong place.Non Laserdisc CHD games DO wok tho.please excuse my ignorance

you can have them either in roms/ or in a subfolder name like the shortname, but you *NEVER* put them inside the zipfile

It was suggested that you might have HLSL enabled. AFAIK, use of that isn't currently working with video from laserdiscs.

Moving any ini files somewhere and creating a new one with as few changes as possible (i.e. just rom paths) would help.
It's likely some video option (like hlsl which has already been mentioned) etc....

Similarly, -video opengl won't work with laserdiscs until the next release.
