Just curious if anyone is getting a memory leak when running bench mark in the newest r244883 of MAME? I tried the official release of MAME.159 and there is no memory leak. It doesn't matter what game I run a bench mark on.
Thanks

OK so using the official MAME160 64 bit build and still getting a memory leak when running bench marks on any game. Anybody else getting this error? If so should this be reported to Mametesters?
Thanks

Same here. I tried the 64-bit, 32-bit normal builds as well as the 32-bit debug build provided using GDI, DDRAW, D3D and OPENGL video modes and I didn't get any memory leak messages at all using default setting other than what was set in command line. Posted my output from 64-bit tests:
Code:
I:\OLDER_MAME>mame64_160 ssf2 -bench 90 -video d3d qsound.bin ROM NEEDS REDUMP WARNING: the game might not run correctly. Average speed: 2077.65% (89 seconds)
I:\OLDER_MAME>mame64_160 ssf2 -bench 90 -video ddraw qsound.bin ROM NEEDS REDUMP WARNING: the game might not run correctly. Average speed: 2075.12% (89 seconds)
I:\OLDER_MAME>mame64_160 ssf2 -bench 90 -video opengl qsound.bin ROM NEEDS REDUMP WARNING: the game might not run correctly. Average speed: 2048.48% (89 seconds)
I:\OLDER_MAME>mame64_160 ssf2 -bench 90 -video gdi qsound.bin ROM NEEDS REDUMP WARNING: the game might not run correctly. Average speed: 2066.92% (89 seconds)
Try a clean install in a new folder to test again. Support folders need to be overwritten every time as well (eg. artwork, hlsl) to make sure things work correctly.

He's probably using some dodgy patches.

I'm using the official build from MAME. I guess you can't read above. I will do a total clean install. I asked B2K24 last week and he had the same issue. No patches, just have GLSL enabled.

OK downloaded to a new folder and moved a few roms over and works now. When I do grab the new release I replace everything excepts my ini folder. What else could be the issue in my original folder?
Thanks
edit
OK has to be something in my ini folder since I copied it and placed in the new instal and getting the memory leak again. Thanks again for the help.

I think the Memory leak is caused by other running processes that can be running out of control that aren't related to MAME/MESS
I can't repo this behavior anymore.
I gotta get around to setting up Minecraft specific PCs for my kids
Check your Task Manager/Processes and make sure nothing is wrong there.
