Did you play as any of the hidden characters in NBA Jam? They used to have the Mortal Kombat characters in them, but the NBA forced them to remove those characters from the game, fearing bad publicity.

In 2001 I didn't have a supergun so I didn't play this board but you are thinking of the original series that had those characters in it. The game we are talking about here is NBA Jam Extreme, totally different game/hardware. The one you are thinking of is in MAME NBA Jam TE, the early revs I think 1.0 and 2.0 had them.
