While texting, I'd rather walk into a fountain than a bear.

If you're lucky, maybe you'll do both at once.

That's not a "giant" bear, though. It looks to be about normal size for a suburban trash raider of the ursine persuasion.
North Carolina?

I remember watching that live. It was either in Duarte,CA or nearby there because black bears in the local mountain ocasionally drop in nearby neighborhoods for either food access or taking a swim in some of the backyard swimming pools.
I believe that was a broadcast a few years ago from KTLA channel 5 now actually channel 5.1 because of the digital tv-thingy. ;-)

OK. There are a few "Sky5" choppers in the country.

Yep, this is my 'hood (I'm in Duarte). We get our fair share of bears in all of the foothill towns along the San Gabriels. We tend to see a lot more of them in the years following major forest fires because their food supply is diminished.

Yeah, but there weren't no 'drawlers' on the line.

I liked KTLA. They had good cartoons during the week, and a Popeye show, hosted by Tom Hatten!, on Sunday morning.
