Playing StarTropics in Higan

I'd post this on the Higan boards but registration is currently disabled there while they move old accounts to the new server.
Trying to play StarTropics in the latest version but it seems that it's impossible to create/register your character. Am I just 'doing it wrong' or is that a bug?

StarTropic uses on-mapper RAM for saving profiles. given that NES emulation in higan is kinda preliminary, it might well be not implemented yet
You might want to try some other emu for this game and its sequel (MESS supports this, Nestopia and FCEUX do as well)
