Request adding data to MAME xml

Is a long time I wanted to make this request to all Mamedevs: you can add in the MAME xml (and the MESS), a field that shows which version a machine has been added? It would be very useful to follow the evolution of the whole project! I volunteer to do the research and add the data, what do you think?

AFAIK most of that stuff can be traced to MASH's long running MAMEINFO.dat file. He's been doing it almost as long as MAME has been around and have very detailed notes of early development, when added, etc. I personally don't see the need to add this information to MAME - the source history itself details what was added and when it was.

This is exactly what makes QMC2 such a powerful and Awesome Front End.
It allows you to view extensive information such as MT bug reports that have been submitted, Game specific setup instructions from the mamedev FAQ page, and other very useful/interesting information

well, not that much. many times dumps get added as skeletons quite early, but actual emulation only follows after a few years...

Just to clarify.
Attachments to post *before* the server move show as 0kb in size, but they are valid links and can be downloaded.
Attachments to post after the server move don't work. They show as 0kb but they are not valid links, giving a 404 when trying to download them.
You should host it at progettosnaps.net and just put a link to there.

Just a way of speaking.
I thought people were aware that attachments showed as 0kb in size, but I clearly saw you weren't aware that right now you can't add new attachments to posts, so I thought I'd explain the current situation, that's all.
Sorry if my clarification confused you. Since it was a clarification, it was not the intention of the clarification to be confusing. Clarifications don't like being confusing, that's against their purpose and the very meaning of their existence. However, black hat clarifications can be confusing intentionally, because they suck so much, them basts...
