The Timber bezel scan is weird. It seems in good shape physically (no flaking, fading or scratches), but it just didn't look right. On closer examination it looks out-of-focus. Except for the "TEMPERED GLASS" stamp. I think maybe the glass is thicker than normal and the scanner couldn't focus on the art which is printed on the back of the glass? What's strange is that the horizontal lines are more out-of-focus than the vertical lines, almost like it was put through a motion-blur filter.
I was able to match up the fonts and redo the text, but there wasn't a lot I could do to clean up the graphics. Unless we can get it rescanned, this will have to do.

That would explain it. This is a very detailed article about taking good photographs of pinball backglasses. The techniques would apply equally to photographing bezels and may be useful to anyone trying to take a bezel photograph if they can't remove it for scanning.
