here is the full post
Are you afraid of Spiders ?
shortly: new system was reverse engineered and emulated - 'Sega System SP' codenamed 'Spider', in some sources (IMO mistakenly) called as "Sega Aurora". probably last custom, not PC based, hardware developed by Sega.
Tech specs: CPU: Hitachi SH4 HD6417091Y 200MHz + 32MB RAM GPU/Chipset: PowerVR2 CLX2 AKA Holly + 16MB RAM SPU: Yamaha AICA + 8MB RAM NET: Au1500 333Mhz CPU + 2MB FlashROM + 8MB RAM (probably used only by satellite games) Media: 128MB - 512MB reprogrammable FlashROM, Compact Flash.
side note: was developed dumping software which writes ROM board content to Compact Flash card, contact us if you have any undumped PCBs on this platform and you wish to dump its content.

0_o "System SP" requires the same resources as regular Naomi emulation. actually it is almost regular Naomi, basically ROM board and IO stuff is different.
currently I have i5-760 with 4gb ram, its enough to run 3-4 Demul instances for Naomi multiboard games. so, I guess on i9 with 64gb of ram you will be able to run 8-10 such Giant Tetrises simultaneously at full speed.

At last, one screen is #ucking great enough to play a game. Triforce and Chihiro will be added on this emulator? You are the only one as been updated Triforce/Dolphin so far...

afaik there was some work in Dolphin Triforce branch, right before their repo was moved to github, maybe that work was continued on some other fork/branch.
you'll better ask "crediar" guy about this - if I not mistaken, this man implemented almost all Triforce stuff in Dolphin based on tmbinc's work, plus a few small JVS additions from me.
anyway we haven't any crazy plans to build Gamecube emulator from scratch just because Dolphin guyz not interested to continue working on Triforce...
about Xbox/Chihiro - our teammate Wind is/was interested in, but haven't any time to work on emulation now.

Speaking of this: one game from this platform, Dinosaur King, was dumped several years ago, but still not added to MAME. and I wondering why ? afaik MAME project was always interested in documentation and preservation, but probably too buzy with spending time on pinballs or HDD space with TypeX dumps now

I've been busy trying to figure out the extra AW protection/banking/??? at 0x5f7080 in ngbc/samsptk/kofxi. I don't suppose you know anything about that? ;-)

yep, its a very simple banking. at PIO offset 0x7fffff games writes some value. so at DMA transfer offset calculation you must substract this value * 0x02000000 from dma_offset.
but probably you will not have time to add/change ~3 lines of code to implement this, because I see you are such too busy, so even cant just add 2 Naomi dumps made by rtw about 4 month ago...
add: I even not saying about IRQ handling separation request I've made afair several month ago, having which I can implement (basic) Naomi2 stuff in MAME... but the truth - no one gives shit about this stuff, but not too busy to (primitive) troll about "some stuff Demul guys discovered but hiding" lol

Thanks!

I have no outstanding Naomi dumps in my inbox or on my checklist. rtw frequently forgets to send me new dumps, he probably did again. You know my email if you have dumps.

I don't recall what you needed here, but I can do it as long as I have the file open for new dumps if you explain.

I'm not trolling, I'm trying to get more games to boot. And since they work in Demul you're obviously the person to ask.

lol, it took about a hour for me ~5-7 years ago

Thanks for the info. But if i ask to that "crediar" user, i will have a simple answer... There is no one with experience to work together with me. I ask for Triforce because are familly of SEGA, NAOMI and XBOX 3 in 1. There is not to much many games for this board, only 15 games, as well for Chihiro 17 games...
See ya.

yes, I was working on it before SystemSP appeared. what exactly card reader you mean ? every game have each own reader, not compatible with others, and each needed to be separate reverse engendered and emulated.
anyway, if you mean reader-printers for magnetic cards - InitialD, ClubKart, Derby Owners data read/write works now but only in GAME TEST mode. during real game there very strange behavior like random card inserting/extracting/etc, looks like some protection crap. AFAIR only one of DOC versions really playable with cards now.

i was curious for initial D. I play that in my racing cabinet alot and it would nice to save my progress. right now im using save states every time i beat a level.
Thank you for answering and keep up the good work. i check the site and rus forum everyday for update and i cant wait for the next version. 582 seems more responsive with my wheel but for Initial D the speedometer disappeared so im using 581 atm.
