MC Content. Opening this is like opening tumblr in public.
#332123 - 09/21/14 06:07 AM Attachment: GatPack.zip 1755 KB (4 downloads)

Attached is the GatPack as it is today.

The overall theme remains to look default, just animate that which shouldn't be static, and tweek a few things.

I still want to do a few more things like animate the fireball and etc. so expect an updated update.

The newest is flies buzzing around the rotten flesh (I may tweek their bugginess to make them less repetitively repetitive) and new windowed doors. My brother always told me I make a better door than a window, and he's finally right.

=)

To others: note this pack currently contains 3rd party assets and is therefor not suitable for distribution.

Project: remedy this.

Add this resource pack on top of the GatPack resource pack.
It uses the GatTextures (with slight modifications) to change the oak door (and only the oak door right now):

I've been busy. Added a little wiggle animation to the clownfish_raw and the salmon_raw, a subtle animated sheen to the golden_apple, golden_carrot, and gold_nugget, added some shine to the ruby (although you'll probably never see it in game), and I'm currently brainstorming how to make slime blocks slimy without detracting from their default look.

Another thing I'm looking at is prismarine crystals. They look too much like eggs... Trying to re-imagine them as looking crystally yet still reminiscent of the default image.

Awesome door, T! Took me a bit to figure out what was new... but it's the 3D-ness of it... sweet!

I added your door to the pack, with proper credit of course... unless you prefer I not do that, I can pull it back out just say the word...

I also updated a few more things:
clownfish animation
pufferfish animation
crystalized the prismine crystals (eggs?) and added sparkle animation

Here's the entire "credits.txt" if you're curious:

In the shot you can see the door tweeks (look close at the oak door to see Tfin's new 3D model of it), the fish (although obviously you can't see the animations), and in the inventory, the new prismarine crystals which actually look like crystals, not ovos grandes, the rotten flesh (but you can't see the animated flies buzzing around it), golden carrot and apple sans animation as well... they have an subtle animated sheen to them, not unlike Charlie.

Also in the inv you can see some of my older tweeks, the diamond, emerald, pork chops, sheers.

I also got rid of the doorknob on top and the hinges on the latch side as part of making it 3D.

I had to guess as to the intent of the door handle, and went with the simplest implementation of it. There are cracks between cuboid elements in any 3D model if you look closely (not at the handle though, that passes through the model). I could try something like a 0.01 overlap (1 sixteen hundredth of a meter) to hide that.

No issue there. Except that I'm just about to re-edit it to allow for a bit more trickery. I'll hold it back until there's another door or six (may as well do all seven of them, right?). Did you look at the actual files? I renamed most of them, so if you just dropped it in, you've probably got duplicates, some of which are still used for the other doors. Studying them might show how to deal with certain items that share textures and/or models.

Yeah, I did notice... the door is super clean looking! Even the wainscoting is 3D! Wow! And I agree with your doorknob... simple and Minecrafty.

I caught that, and deleted my "door_wood.png" file, as it is now obsolete with the TFin'ized 3D oak door! Not sure if it's intentional, but your "oak_door.png" has the image 1 pixel higher than the default door item images.

I'll... take care of that... in the editing I'm doing. Slightly more involved than I thought (dang culling!).

...there was actually a pretty big cullface issue with it, so this is the edited oak door, alone again.

I "fixed" the gui issue, in that the difference is now intentional. I'll need to move on the other doors now, though, as this one stands out quite a bit.

Updated the prismarine crystals so that they look like crystals now, not eggs. And i added a little sparkle animation. Used them also for the quartz, so quartz now also looks like crystals and not a roadkill-swan. Plus I updated your door fix.

I may have gone a bit too far with the birch door, so... I can change things that want change. File to follow:

Yes, I violated Minecraftiness by making the birch door about the thickness of a real door, rather than the 7.4 inches of the model.
(I really wish I could get 1/4-height slabs and 4-step stairs!)

Also... yes, I see that the birch door is shorter than the oak in the GUI; they use exactly the same numbers, other than the thinness of the birch.
