A question about clrmamepro's "Have List..." behaviour...
#330029 - 08/16/14 09:04 PM

Hi, guys. Here's my situation:

I have two complete sets of MAME roms. One for 0.119 and another one for 0.153. Now I want to save a little space by deleting similar sets between the two, so I scanned the 0.153 rom folder with dat file created from 0.119 MAME binary to get a list of have sets in order to delete the duplicate sets in 0.119 folder manually, but the "Have List..." function of the clrmamepro's scanner lists all the zip files as "Have Sets" as long as they're named correctly, regardless of their compatibility with 0.119 MAME.

For example "1941.zip" will be included in the "Have List" even though clrmamepro's "Scan Results" window clearly shows that its missing some roms. It seems clrmamepro only cares about the existence of the zip file. It could be a black zip file titled "1941.zip."

Now my question: Is there an option to change this behaviour so clrmamepro list only roms that are compatible with 0.119? To be specific I want a list that ignores "wrong name" and "unneeded file" errors in zip sets and include those in the "Have List", but checks for the "missing rom" error and exclude those from the list.

Thanks in advance.

only trust the scanner tree detailed output..everything else like stats or have/miss lists can be ignored. such lists are only a very quick and dirty 'set-exists' check and no 'set is ok' check.

Thanks, Roman. Your advice really helped me to find a solution for my problem. First I unchecked "Case", "Unneeded", "Name", and "Date" in the scanner window, leaving only "Missing", "Size", and "Checksums" checked, then I did a new scan and the "Scan Results" window only showed the sets that have missing roms. So I had a list of all sets which have issues with MAME 0.119. I accidentally right click on the "Scan Results" window and a menu showed up. I searched through them and finally was able to have a text file that contains the names of the sets that are incompatible with MAME 0.119 ("Export Set List" --> "To File" --> "All Listed Set Issues..."). SUCCESS!

I just wrote all this to show how versatile and flexible clrmamepro is. Thank you very much for such a great application.
