Awesome, so I basically pissed away the $400 I spent on a Star Wars Racer cab so I could pull the PCB cage and ship it to Guru 6 goddamn years ago.

The next version of demul is going to be killer.

One problem. Can they pull this off by making it fully working? No bullshit half ass.

I think there are "slightly" more bugfixes/improvements: - VF4 sound/volume glitches - Atomiswave internal conrols system fully reverse-engineered (Bass Fishing trackball emulated, lightguns now fires without gllitches), need get time to write English docs and submit this to MAME. - Atomiswave serial touch screens emulated. - Hitachi SH4-based sensor board emulated (ManicPanic/Pokasuka, Touch Zunou) - "Mazan flash of the blade" sensor boards emulated - Capcom VS SNK 2000 intro was fixed. also, I've started working on InitialD/ClubCart/Derby card reader/printer, with moderate success, but atm its far from normally working.
that's short list of completed things for last month
> I cant wait. > > Star wars will get heavy play in my racing cab
there is still no ETA. our Render-plugin is in the middle of rewrite, so until it will be finished - there will be no new releases.
actually its ~fully working, but lacks some YOBA functionality like "Internal resolution scaling", pixel shader filters, so if we make release right now "AS IS" - users will be completely pissed off, especially Russian ones...
I hope, I'll have enough time and will until end of summer to finish this crap

actually its working, just geometry rendered in very wrong way, and this is VERY good => we have fresh new data to investigate and analyze, probably much different to used in other games, which may lead to much better level of understanding this system and its emulation.
by lucky coincident, the guy, who was made Hikaru's GPU emulation just returned from vacation, so I expect nice results in near time.

delivered
there was a problem with AirTrix - no model animation at all, something was totally missed and it was protection scheme with encrypted data for the slave CPU with animation driver..
just by luck we hooked Naomi M3 protection for airtix/pharrier type carts and found a key and it's works!
braveff/podrace seems have little different protection scheme, as well as sgnascar have third type, but they can be fooled easily (braveff haven't a prot chip at all), so there is no more thing to do there just now...

I would have never expect this! that is amazing news. I play initial D without fail and it always seemed a little empty without the point system/card reader. I used save state for my for progress. if I can ask in 582, initial D v3e is missing a layer that was present 581 and below, basically the speedometer disappear and the black border around the conversations is missing. Any idea is that has been repaired or returned? The steering is much better in 582 but, its impossible without the speedometer. It happens on both my computers and i can provide screenshots if needed

Huh. I remembered that game as looking a lot better than that. Must've been the lovely standard-res CRT in the dedicated cabinets.

And the amazing aliasing.
Joking aside, it is supposed to look a lot better than that:

Correct lighting and texturing go a long way

Compared to the linked videos, it appears the ground textures are being displayed in low resolution, or at the wrong LOD, compared to the videos.

Demul is great, but can you please add the ability to start a game in full screen mode? This omission makes Demul very difficult to use with arcade cabinet frontends.

actually, it does start in a full screen if you set the "Full screen" checkbox in the video plugin settings window first time, then run any game from command line.

That's great! It works.
What about closing the program, though? Is there a way to make "Escape" close the program if you launch it from the commandline?

I learned something here....
Apparently Kilometers per hour (KM/h) is a valid unit of speed in the Starwars universe.
Also, great work!

Then can it be added? It's a fairly simple thing to add for an enormous end user benefit.

Please add "pause" button, too. Thank You
EDIT : Nevermind, it's on "Pause/Break" key. (not documented, but OK)

Even a long time ago in a galaxy far far away they knew that only the metric system makes sense.

That's great. Nice to see it emulated. Now the only other undumped Sega Hikaru game is Cyber Troopers Virtual-On 4 'Force'(aka Virtual-On 4). Hopefully, we will be able to find it.
