MAME Hi/Lo Shifter Icon
#326611 - 06/05/14 04:45 PM

Hi,

I am trying to figure out where in the source code the (i suppose two) shifter icons are placed (i am referring to the shifter/gear position indicator you can move from the left bottom border to the right bottom border from the in-game video submenu when bezel is active/shown).

I wanna try to toy with them and possibly change them, but surfing the src i could not find those files... any hint?

Thanks

Check \src\mame\layout or maybe in an artwork file that is for the game if you have any.

Thank you very much for the answer.

I found a couple of interesting documents on this argument (they where pointed out in Mr_Do site, but links where broken):

LAY Files Basics - Part I

Layouts and Rendering for MAME Artwork System

So, the shifter icon is essentially made up of objects (discs, strings and text), so a "composition", not an image.

The first link reports the possibility to use PNG images, and explains how to do that. I will post other questions after some toying if something goes wrong
