Yeah, the sugar free stuff will do that to you. Personally, I stay away from it. Unless you're diabetic, it's not any better for you than the real stuff.

Man, there it says "artificially flavored" as if it's something good, worth remarking, as if it's better than the real thing.

We are really going downhill...

You are? I didn't know that.

I'm lactose-intolerant intolerant. I can't tolerate people who are lactose intolerant... they give me gas.

You shouldn't be so intolerant intolerant. Now that you have your car back, you should be taking any gas you can get....

//Type 2, isn't so bad. Generally only ~2 months of the year that I can't keep it in check with dietary control.

I had a physical about a month ago. One of the results came back as "Lab Profile-blood sugar-glucose 103".

A good number of times I've had sudden waves of dizziness, but they would subside after about a minute or 2. These events seem to happen every 3 or 4 months, maybe longer. Only 2 times, and these have been many years apart - did I have really bad attacks where I felt dizzy, faint, heart palpitations, sweating, weakness, nausea....

Was there a boner involved?

No seriously... I'd get that checked out... No good ending begins with all that.

That really isn't terrible, but it's on the high side for standard bloodwork if I'm remembering that range right. Standard bloodwork glucose isn't really a qualifier for diabetes, as too much can throw it off. They will do a different screen to diagnose, usually the 3 hour test. It sucks, I always fail it no matter how much I study...

It is possible your dizziness was from a sugar bomb, you don't need to be diabetic to have a sugar crash episode every now and then(could also be a number of other things, even dehydration...)

Yeah, variations on this have been around since the 80s. The crash diet does allow the body to eat away at the fatty tissue on the pancreas. The only issue is that you are in-taking way less calories a day than you need, and eventually the diet becomes unsustainable. Temporary reprieve in symptoms, yes. Cure...nope.

It's pretty much the same for me. I was a string bean growing up, and the minute I started putting on even a slight bit of bulk as a teen I started showing signs of sugar issues. If I crash diet or go into a workout phase I'm super for a few months, but then I have a really bad month if I stop.

Sweets go straight to some peoples hips, but go right to my pancreas it seems.

Again, it isn't all that bad. You get used to dizzy spells and forgetfulness. The shakes and cold sweats and everything else are easily fixable. The only symptoms I really hate are the tin mouth and antifreeze mouth, depending on if I'm high or low. Haven't passed out since before I was diagnosed, and rarely need to stab anymore. You figure out how to control it pretty quickly.
