Darius Competition

Hey all,
A few friends and I are trying to figure out ways and reasons to try new games so I came up with having a month long competition on a game for a dumb prize (a t-shirt in this instance) and bragging rights.
Chose Darius and wrote a little article to start the contest off. Then we can take nominees for a game in May or something.
Hope a few more people from the community are interested, take a look.

It's a friendly thing so we can just submit on the honors system, I know a couple of guys that are incredible at this game so maybe we can find a couple more.

I do like the idea of this... But I'm not sure the participation level will/would be that high (just because of 'adult stuff' and all).... Unless we had time to commit to it and it be on a competitive level.
Scores could be posted as the Subject line with attachment. Edits/updates could be done if a new/higher score is reached. But a deadline might have to be established -- so no 'updates' past a certain date/time.
I've never played Darius, so there's a very remote possibility I might try this. No promises though.

Yup, the same holds true here, I have so many obligations my poor MAME setup gets ignored.
I was thinking a new game a month, so 4/30 being the end of the Darius run. I could post the scores here, there, everywhere.
I hadn't played Darius until a friend of mine said I should last week, I'm not very good at it but it is reasonably fun.

Is this a 1 credit run, or do we play/continue till we can't progress any more?
Because I couldn't seem to progress past the 2nd boss.
I didn't think it was worth the trouble to post the score I got....

WOW, I think that's more than I have scored in all of the games added up together that I have played of Darius in my whole life ....
