Getting Ready For A Few Months Of Suck...
#322814 - 03/04/14 05:40 AM

My surgery is set for 10:00 AM EST tomorrow. I'll be fully out of it for the procedure, and likely for the rest of the day, but then 2-3 months of utter hell while my arm is wrapped in a sling, I'm in immense pain from rehab, and I'm completely unable to do anything with ease as I'll lose complete use of my left arm. Things like playing videogames? Not going to happen. Get up and open up a box or can? Nuh-uh. Drive anywhere? Ain't happening. This is going to completely blow. I guess I'll find out who my true friends are. The ones who have said "Sure, I'll give you a hand if you need it." I'll probably get a lot of "Sorry man, can't make it out today. Wish I could."

Work isn't being much better. People I work with are pissed at me because I won't be able to work for a few weeks and they think that just because I'm working from home I'll be able to work the entire time. I should just sign in and reply to e-mails while completely messed up and screw up everything I work on so that they have to repair it all. Ugggh.

Ignoring the retards making flappy bird and clones popular, ios is at a peak of awesomeness, and you can play them with one hand so there has never been a better time to go through arm surgery. You will have to whine elsewhere for that department.

Good luck with everything...

Pessimist: Oh, this can't get any worse!
Optimist: Yes, it can!

Pac-Man.
Ms. Pac-Man.
Mahjong.

Not to mention, those joysticks with buttons on the actual stick. (Maybe a one-handed person came up with the idea?)

Google "one handed" for advice on daily tasks.

They might figure you owe them one, so be prepared in case they decide to cash in.

The thing with American culture is that you're not supposed to have spare time. When you're not busy slaving away the best years of your life for your career, you're supposed to be busy spending yourself even deeper into debt and/or running around like a maniac for your children.

Welcome to America.
I can hardly believe how so many people chug the Kool-Aid by the gallon.

Yeah my girlfriend fell and broke her right elbow, they had to go in and replace the joint, of course she is right handed too. she is in theorpy now. she can now lift a whole
10 pounds this week ! she has been a pain in the butt too, amazing how many things take
both hands! opening pop, candy bar, bag of chips, spreading p.b. etc... thanks to her im learning that !

I hope you a speedy recovery and I hope you didn't have surgery on your dominate side.

Only here to annoy...

Surgery went well. They missed with the nerve block so when I came to I was in a LOT of pain. a few doses of IV Dilaudid later and all was well. The first few days sucked BAD as expected, but every day gets better and better. sleeping is still rough, but again, it's getting better and better. Not needing nearly as many oxycodone doses, and its only two days later.

Last week I got some of the stitches removed, but still have a two-inch, Frankenstein like wound on the top of my shoulder where they had to open me up to cut out some clavicle. Those stitches come out later this week, and I also start physical therapy this week.

I must say, the past couple of weeks while I was on enough narcotics to knock out most people, it did give me some inspiration to look into building my first MAME cab. Took some measurements in my house to see where I could get one to fit and with what dimensions. Turns out, my design with a 28" wide cab that is 22" deep and 75" tall will fit through any doorway in the house and any place in the path from my outside door to my planned destination. Already bought a very nice LCD monitor that is 27" on the diagonal. Currently putting together the other parts for a custom build. Can't wait to get this thing built. The HLSL part of MAME looks great to me, and having the old school CRT look for SF1-3, then the high-res look for SF4 and SSF4:AE on this cab will be sweet. Yes, I'm REALLY high right now from the pain killers, but I can't wait for this cab to be built. No turning back now. Ummm..... boobies are cool.
