Edit Memory in debug mode?
#321240 - 02/01/14 09:29 PM

Hi,

I;m wondering if there's anyway I can change the data of some memory locations in games at all? I'm trying to see if I can change the value of some RAM locations to see if it will change the current song but I can't type in the new data. I try to select and type but it just moves to the next bit.

Any help greatly appreciated, thanks.

You are probably trying to write into a memory area that does not really contain ram but is some kind of read only memory

I'm trying to write to a Z80 I/O space and the main 68k seems to write to it to play the music.

Then that area is most certainly implemented using memory handlers and the debugger shows the values returned by the read handler

Yeah editing in the memory window doesn't work well for data that it can't read back.
We should probably add a poke command.
