Getting hella blur with HLSL enabled
#320536 - 01/19/14 01:47 AM Attachment: gradius_hlsl_blur.png 223 KB (0 downloads)

I've noticed that I'm getting alot of motion blur with HLSL enabled. Attached are two screen grabs of Gradius II. One has HLSL enabled and the other disabled. There is no blur when disabled. Should this be happening? The game is running 100% speed on an LG LCD monitor.

HLSL is WIP, settings that looked great on 0.143 might look different on latest MAME.

Lower your "phosphor persistence" (or whatever it's called in HLSL config speak)
The last time I looked there were separate adjustments for each color channel.

Pastebin your settings and then it's easier to figure out what your problem is.

As someone already suggested, check the phosphor life settings.

But the "Raster Bloom" setting is probably set too high as well.

I don't think I've altered them from what ships with MAME binary, though.

Set it to 0.0 and no more blur I still can't get this thing to look like I want it though. Trying to get it as crisp as this:
