what is a "Watchdog Reset"? and how is different than a normal reset?

A watchdog is a routine or hardware component that watches for lockups in a system, and then resets the system to regain control if an issue is noticed. There doesn't necessarily need to be a difference in the actual reset action, it more pertains to the cause for the reset.
