A question about the snapshot function in Mame

I have a question regarding the F12 snapshot button. It seems to me that everything is wrong whenever i take a pic.
The resolution is wrong - for example a NeoGeo pic is now 640x480 and not 304x224. The sharpness is gone - it's all a blurred mess. This was not the case with old versions of Mame.
And why does it save only 1 shot and overwrites the old shot ? In older versions it would create a extra folder or would add a number to the next shot from the same game.
How can I get native unaltered "clean" snapshots ?
I use MameUi64 btw

I don't use or know anything about MameUi64, but have you tried using any of the snapshot setting for MAME, in particular "snapsize"?
http://mamedev.org/source/docs/config.txt.html
Maybe older versions had assumptions that now need to specified via the snap parameters.

Thanks for your help but I don't use the command line version of Mame.
I have solved the problem with the native snaps (it was simply a option in the "misc" section that I have overlooked).
But how can I take more than 1 snapshot ?

you change the snapname option, to avoid overwriting the png snap after the first one
