Frenzy bug?

I tried different 64 bit builds and all have the same bug. Play the game and randomly it will freeze your guy and other sprites but you can still hear the sounds. You can't move your guy anymore and just locks up.

While I'm not at all familiar with this game and I've never actually launched it before reading this post, it seems to always occur after you blast all other enemies on the screen and the games says something about a robot attack with a smiling face bouncing enemy trying to collide into you.

After which it seems you can't move.
