Hello, everybody.
I tried to play Maximum Force on a few versions of MAME but for now I am doing it with 0.102. I got the "Missing files" error and I tried the -verifyroms command and I got this:
naxforce: naxforce NOT FOUND
(A bunch of letters and numbers are here, but I'm not sure if they help or not in finding a solution for this.)
romset maxforce is bad
1 romsets found, 0 were OK.
I have downloaded the CHD and I downloaded the ROMS from many different ROM sites but it seems no matter which version of MAME I use it doesn't work. I used to have a version of MAME that worked with the game (It was a Windows version 0.10# I think).
I also heard something about the ROMs having to be the right version as the emulator, though I'm not sure how to check that. If anyone can help, I would sincerely appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

mame maxforce -listroms
...to see which files are required.
That's all, you're on your own with this.

Thanks! That what I was looking for, to see which ROMs I needed. However, the four files that it lists are already in the directory, so I'm not sure why it's not working.
I had the same four files from another version and deleted them and now I get this error:
maxforce.chd UNSUPPORTED CHD VERSION
ERROR: required files are missing, the game cannot be run.
I think it means I have to get the v1.05 CHD file. I got the CHD originally from emuparadise, but I think I may have downloaded the v1.02 ROM by mistake.
EDIT: Okay, now after downloading the v1.05 ROMs and CHD it still doesn't work and it gives me the Unsupported CHD Version error. I don't know why I am getting this error. Do I need an older/newer version of MAME?

That error is slightly misleading, it means you need to delete everything in your "diff" folder.
