I think it might be exaggerated a little by the fish eye lens, but it's still amazing. Is the spin that starts as he approaches Mach 1 intentional? It seems like his speed shoots up when it starts and slows again when it stops, but it looks like it gets a little out of control near the end. It sounds like he shouts "Rock and roll!!" when the chute deploys. At the start the atmosphere is very thin, so he doesn't have much air to drag against with limbs to control his orientation. Once he gets thicker air to play with he gets more control, but it also slows him down from that supersonic speed he builds up briefly.
