If this particular creator is 'MAME friendly' perhaps he could share scans that he has that are in either in better condition or stuff that is currently unobtainable with Mr.Do! Artwork project.

There was actually some concern in the Shout Box about this a week or so ago, about whether the MAME Artwork project was being ripped off by this guy. After reading the author's background with arcade artwork on the Kickstarter page and the previous collection he refers to, I think the answer to that is "No" but I'm not entirely sure.

Most of the marquees displayed are already available in HQ, so I'm not sure just 'what' is being restored.
I know he states that it is colour matched, but his Choplifter example looks exactly like what has already been fixed and cleaned.
I'd say that I'm dubious about how much time is really being spent on restoration.
