"My bad...next time you run me over a median I'll be sure to thank you instead."

Sometimes it takes every ounce of my self control not to get off the bike and start beating people with my shoes.

People associate "bikers" with that. Those guys were dicks.

Having been on a bike again for ~2 years now, 40 miles a day, it's really eye opening to how shitty most drivers are, bikers or "cagers". It's even more revealing how little remorse someone has after nearly killing someone.

Someone really said that to you? What kills me is that people who have the nerve to say something like that are always shocked when you tell them off. I was on a narrow street a few years back, going around a blind curve. I was going a little too fast, as was the guy coming the other way, and we both had to stab our brakes a little to make it past each other. As our open driver's windows passed, he had the nerve to scold me for going too fast. I told him to go fuck himself in so many words. The memory of his indignant squawk as I drove away still warms my heart to this day.

What exactly is going on there? They're dogging the Range Rover right from the start of the video. I'm not saying that mowing people down is warranted, but I'd be pretty damn nervous to be surrounded and stopped by a huge gang of biker boyz on a NYC highway.

I think CNN has the news story. You really have to come to your own conclusions by watching the video and knowing 1 fact added by the media: The person in the car had an infant (or tottler) in the car with him.

I don't know why they were harassing the guy... he may have provoked them, but the video was uploaded by one of the bike riders. I would have included that prior provocation in the video if that were true.

What I see, is that the asshole biker got in front of the car and tried stopping on purpose, then got pissed off when the car hit his bike.

The number of people there, trying to surround me like that, with my child in the car... I would have done EXACTLY what he did. Perhaps more. I would have shot the guy right in the head that smashed my window with his helmet and I would have shot the guy who tried to open my car door as well (DISCLAIMER: If I owned a weapon, which I don't).

Wow, if that's really the case, I would have done the same thing. The "accident" was basically deliberate, and with thugs swarming from all sides, I'd have been in fear for my life, too. I'm sure he was panicking like crazy, but his mistake was getting off the highway. The road looked pretty clear, I'd have run as hard as I could and had the wife on the horn to the cops. Don't stop until you see the flashing blues. You can't outrun a sport bike, but if you're moving fast enough, it's basically suicide for them to try to stop you or run you off the road.

You got it right. Some redditors found YT videos of other riders' Go Pro footage and they all clearly show the bikers provoked the guy driving the Range Rover first and then the one guy drives up next to his window, gives him a stare-down, and then proceeds to stop short in front of the SUV. I doubt the driver of the SUV could have stopped that fast if he wanted to and I wish he had ran over more of those assholes. Unfortunately none of the bikers were seriously injured. Just a bunch of wanna-be-gangsters making other bikers look bad.

I love how these d-bags incriminate themselves on video and then proceed to upload it to YouTube. Also, what the other videos show that this one doesn't is that they were also driving on sidewalks and in the opposite lane (later on after the video you posted ends but they're still chasing him).
