Primal Rage, NO GOOD DUMP KNOWN message
#312018 - 07/26/13 08:07 PM

I have the ROM but I get a message that the ROM sets are not found in Primal Rage.
is there any file I am missing? It worked in previous MAME versions

I use MAME 0.149

You're probably talking about the pal chips that are marked as undumped. You can just OK through the message and play the game.

thanks

seems I had to install the tms BIOS file. both game versions load fine now.

the no good dump message appeared on version 2.3 ver. 2.0 would only say c31boot file missing.

Do yourself a favour and hunt down a 'no nag' compile of MAME.

I believe it isn't allowed to talk about these builds around here...

Yeah, because it's *awesome* for people to not know why when a game malfunctions. Someone oughta patch Windows so it doesn't tell you when your HDD is failing.

telling you that you're missing a rom is a nag?

I'm sorry, apparently we're not allowed to talk about such things here for fear of it bringing on the apocalypse and general end of civilisation as we know it...

The purpose of this forum is trying (if possible) to help them. Your suggestion only sinks them deep into ignorance.

Plus, how much annoyance is wriggling a joystick to disappear a message? You want users not to input two simple joystick movements to close a single message? you may as well suggest a build who plays itself to avoid the annoyance of playing.

The OP's real problem was he couldn't play the game due to missing roms.

A "no nag" version wouldn't help him. I don't understand the desire to indoctrinate others.
