Wouldnt know, power has been out all night. Prepared for a neighborhood party for 3 months. All it took was one 5 minute storm...and a generator with an attitude to kill that plan.

Something really weird must have happened to take out a bunch of stuff like that. My parents have lost a few things to lightning strikes over the years, but I've never seen a simple outage take anything out, let alone a bunch of stuff. You should file a claim with the electric company. If it was their equipment failure that caused the damage, you might actually get something from it. "Emotional distress" from missing the game might be a tougher sell, though.

Yeah, had them all on surge protectors, so Im guessing extended brown out.
Expect a lot of mispelling and crazy autocorrect in the next week....
Hey Sune, refresh my memory... you're in Belo Horizonte or Rio? I'll be in Rio next week (egads, I hope the rioting is over by then).
Pretty much, if there's a disaster... I'm scheduled to be there at the same time. The list of crap timing like that is long for me. My recent travels have been met with tsunami's, mass beheadinging, riots, and military action. You'd think I was an AP reporter or something, but I'm just a guy with bad timing.

I'm in BH. I think it's great that the people are finally standing up to the government, hopefully things will change for the better.
Saw this today..ask Gatinha to translate for you:
Of course with the main streets all full of people, if you want to get somewhere in a hurry you need a helicopter..Yesterday I had to drive to a small village outside Belo Horizonte to make a delivery, even there the people were out blocking the street and I had to..basically drive around a mountain to get to where I was going.

The storm right before game 1 took out our power for 5.5 hours. The neighbor spent the 3 overtimes in his car listening to the game because his generator had an attitude and he needed to use my power inverter to power his sump pump. After cleaning up debris from that I learned a powerful lesson about how poison ivy can grow maybe 30 feet up a tree and it actually is poison ivy even though you had no idea it could grow that tall and you should wear pants and a long sleeve shirt when cleaning up said debris instead of shorts and a t-shirt. The use of gloves while cleaning debris made that lesson more bearable. Roids have also helped.
I'm cynical, but I doubt it. People can't resist the intoxication of power and money, on every level.
The U.S. had it's unique moment in history when the founding fathers put their country ahead of their personal gains (hell, they offerred George Washington to be king and he turned down a crown and suggested a democracy to make a better country) but I think that was a singularity never to be repeated.
My guess is some superficial concessions will be made to appease the masses, and things will be back to normal, fleecing the people. Same here in the states.

It's now becoming "you're either a patriot, or a traitor" Either way, yes plenty of money to be made from both sides either as a prisoner, or as concessions to "shut-up, or you're next"

Funny I spent most of the overtime In that game screwing in a hot tub.

Wait, now I'm really confused. Which interpretation is correct?

Funny, I spent part of the evening after cleaning up debris in a hot tub with the wife. And a neighbor lady. And the in-laws. It was already attached to the deck, so no screwing was involved.
The next day, while at the Warrior Dash, the rash fist became noticeable.

You can take a small piece of a poison ivy leaf (maybe with tweezers) and touch it to your tongue (I'm not sure if it's the top or bottom side - so use both). It's supposed to help you recover more quickly from poison ivy and/or make it not as irritating. eta: But maybe not if you're highly allergic to it...
There's also these orange lily type of flowers that typically grow near poison ivy. That's supposed to help in some way too, but I've never tried that method, not yet at least.
