MEWUI integration into internal UI of official MAME

MEWUI official website = http://sourceforge.net/projects/mewui/
Firstly, quick question. I'm having trouble getting the history.dat displayed in MEWUI. Where is it exactly displayed? The changelog says it's displayed in-game. I looked through the options in a game's in-game menu but couldn't find it.

imho, it is not that useful, given that it can only list the name of the game (the UI is not suited to display snaps, which would be maybe more helpful) and you often end up in the middle of a series of fruit machines which you have to scroll before reaching some game you might be interested in... but if some users like it, they are free to use it
MEWUI has been updated a great deal since then and it is now able to display all the snaps (snaps, titles, flyers, cabinets, marquees, control panels, and PCBs.) Now that MEWUI has had great improvements and additions, it would be nice if this was added to the internal UI of the official MAME.
Here is the discussion on the matter: http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/sho...true#Post292970

In case you missed the earlier thread, it's not happening.
MAME will have an improved built-in UI (that is *not* MAMEUI/MAMEUIFX or MEWUI) in the future, but it won't be built on existing tech like MEWUI is.

@Big Karnak
The history is displayed if there is "history.dat" (even in compressed zip or 7z), or in the subfolder "/ history" or directly in the root folder of MEWUI (in this case must be compressed). In addition to display it in the ingame menu, you can view it on the main screen by pressing ATL + H. Obviously, in miscellaneous menu, the related option must be active

'll Play the bells, and not in an ironic sense, but honestly enthusiastic

And now that in one of the latest SVN the huge MAME list of games has been splitted into ARCADE, FRUIT, PINBALL... it should be easier for him create a MEWUI which only support arcades and reduce the whole list from 29,000 to 11,000 entries.
EDIT: Ooops... now a lot of people will start to compile and make their own Multiple ARCADE Machine Emulator...

Thanks. I like your MAME derivative, keep up the good work!

That might just be the bad smell coming from your fridge.

MAMEUI is currently in maintenance mode with no active development taking place. The 64-bit version is still compiled and released when there is no breakage with the core.
Will the future MAME's improved built-in UI cause a breakage with the core which results in MAMEUI and MAMEUIFX no longer being functional?

MAMEUI is already non-functional. Use something worth a damn and you won't have to waste your own time asking such questions.

What a bold and without any real proof claim.

Last I checked, QMC2 still doesn't support custom folders, multiple favorites lists, etc.

Nope it doesn't, and it's a pain. For me personally, using a Mac (which is a pain, but hey, needed it for work) it's the only decent Front-end available, but it lacks a lot of customisation-functions. I'm working on a custom Catver.ini-like file for my cab (it's gonna be awesome, more soon!) and it would've been sooo much better if I could select two or more lists and choose between them. but no go.

QMC2 feature adds are driven almost entirely by user request. Come on over to the QMC2 forum and tell Rene your troubles, he's a very nice person.
