You're better off without them if those are the board types where the darts have to fit into the premade holes. I played on one a few weeks ago and 3/4 of our shots bounced out. Terrible experience, we just quit. Maybe some are better designed than others but they probably all give at least some annoying bounce out.

Long tips? short tips? Were they needing replaced? It makes a lot of difference. I got the better half a good Arachnid board about three years ago. She has played league forever. She got me into playing when we got together. We play almost every night.
The first board is an Emprex 13"a Smaller board like we played on in Germany. As I am writing this the Emprex just got delivered. I ordered it off of Amazon.UK. Going to check this thing out. Update later.

Brand new at a friend's apartment but I don't remember the brand. The tips I think were long? Definitely not too short.

I would try different tips or even shafts. You don't have to have an expensive set of darts. Two sets I throw are about 20 bucks.
Got the Emprex board out...set up the software seems cool. It seems to work fine. Now have to build a cab for it. I am going order the second board. It is in Japan. The idea is to make a couple of machines like you would play at the pub. Kind of like a Galaxy 3.
