The truly sad thing is that the only difference between that guy and me is that I'm smart enough to not even attempt something like that on my own. I suppose if I tried it, I would at least research proper building technique first, but I would still fail just about as miserably.

Same here. I'm not handy AT ALL. It's a wonder I was able to built a somewhat decent cab. However I'd know enough that if I'm building a structure (particularly a ROOF) and my boards don't reach....nailing another board to it to extend it is NOT the same as a larger board.

And, like was mentioned in that forum, the first time that shed gets some substantial water on it, the whole structure is going to buckle and turn into a soggy, spongy mess.

You mean this one?

That's how I measure my cuts too... I hold up the entire 8-foot piece of plywood horizontally in mid air... eye ball it just right, and then just skip cutting it and nail it overlapping. When you've been building as long as I have, you learn this skill.

Actually, and not to be a dick, but to actually do this guy a favor... someone really needs to call the code inspectors on him. Someone will get killed in that thing when it collapses on them, or at least gash the shit out of their hand and possibly disable themselves when they touch one of those pounded-down 8-inch nails sticking through his walls.

If you look in the back left, I think he's already built one of these...

Why is it so *big*? Comparing to the van, it's the size of a really deep two-car garage, but it has that one, dinky little door. For the money he's wasted on materials, he could have had a nice little pre-fab shed installed in an afternoon.

LOL @ ~1:39 - I half expected them to spend the rest of the video stacking the plywood on top and having it fall off at the same rate.

I was getting a total Minecraft vibe from that part, "Hmm, maybe a block here; no, what about here... What about if I use that drop here, that might fit". Agreed though, it's the consummate skill of a highly talented professional at work: measure never, cut once (or not at all).

Totally non-dickish. All hilarity aside, I think the same. With all the online attention it's seemingly received, I'd bet that some 'nominous tips have already been made.
