Maybe it's an April Fools joke that took too long to get out. Either way it's lame.

That would be the stupidest thing in human history. Even Disney wouldn't pay $2 billion for something just to shut it down. No, they're just pruning all of the bits that aren't useful to them. It's a shame that it's LucasArts, because they were pretty important in the history of video games, but the truth is that they weren't doing so well even before the Disney deal.

They already ditched clone wars.
All they care about is SW 7-9. The said so when they bought it.
I suspect all that will be left is ILM after SW 7-9 come out. As they pretty much use them for all their live action movie effects anyway... They will either sell or close the rest. Pretty much if it isnt making money they will offload it.
You will probably see a bunch of licenses being run thru what is left of lucasarts. Who knows maybe telltale will step up and make more?

Yeah. Disney already had a poorly performing game division, they didn't really need a second. The Internet weeping misses that the last new non-remake adventure game came out in 2000 and that after that the really good LucasArts games were usually ones they didn't develop themselves (KOTOR by BioWare, Lego Star Wars by Travellers Tales, etc).
