Random musings from MAME developers:

I'm not really sure whom this was directed toward, but I would hate to think that any of my custom graphics would be mistaken for reproductions and posted to documentation sites. The only time I make them is if the real thing isn't available or I need a screen placeholder.
How, exactly, would someone "destroy history" in the name of MAME? It seems to me the MAME devs are sticklers for authenticity, and there are plenty of peripheral apps intended for non-authentic games.

Arbee's quote about "destroying history in MAME's name" refers to people who convert vintage arcade machines (especially rare games) into MAME cabinets, discarding the original PCBs in the process.
